Hogager Church

Holstebro

Two exiting projects came from the churches in Hogager and Borbjerg east to Holstebro in the western part of Jylland.
The work to Hogager in 2009 was to create a light column to the 110 years birthday of the church.

A proposal was initially made in bronze, but when bog oak tree trunks found in peat bogs were saved by one of the farmers, this tree with grey and black colours was used on the column.
The inner part of the column was made in oak tree. A bronze box filled with sand, where candle lights can be placed, is on the top of the column. A bronze flame is placed in the middle. On the front of the column is placed a bronze relief with the motive Christ standing with open arms. Four Christ-monograms are engraved on the four sides of the bronze box.
